ABOUT US
HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Canyon was born from a small group of friends who shared a singular purpose to form a church, by God's grace, which would minister to the greater Kingman community and beyond.
In 1999, Canyon friends began meeting in a local community center. The first regular worship service had 16 people in attendance. All of Canyon at the time (and up to 2005) was lay-led. This distinctive of lay-leadership remains today-Canyon seeks to train and equip its members for acts of service and, as such, maintains a low staff-to-member ratio.
In December of 2002, Canyon purchased a 5000 square-foot commercial building on North Bank Street in Kingman. This facility served as Canyon's home until June of 2006 when Canyon sold the building and purchased an 11-acre site adjacent to Mohave Community College in North Kingman.
Today, Canyon worships at the Former Free Methodist Church on Harvard Street in Kingman. Through a long-range agreement with the property owner, Canyon will stay at this location until such time as resources and growth allow us to move to the future property.
